Day 1
Munich - Eresing
April 19, 2018
After a protracted winter, fine weather and time to cycle a little farther from home, time to build up a little more endurance on the saddle. So far our rides have been about 35 km. Our ride to Eresing on the first day wa 54 km. We had few hills and a wonderful tail wind. I felt strong and pedaled hard, by my standards anyway. I felt good, and when we got to our destination, checked in at the hotel and showered - all of a sudden I was very tired. So I guess I'm still not up to a whole lot.
Day 2
Eresing - Altomünster
April 20, 2018
I must have fallen asleep at 8:30 last night. Today, on the second day of our outing, I was feeling ok, but a wee bit tired and saddle sore. The ride was hillier and the wind wasn't pushing us along, but I also took it a little easier and didn't exert myself as much as on the previous day with the result that I wasn't as tired in the evening.
I like hills and with the e-bike they aren't an issue, althoug even with support you work harder to get to the top than when pedaling on flat terrain. I like finding my rhythm on a climb, getting in the right gear and working my way up. I also like that it changes the distribution of your weight when you climb which is a relief.
Since with our bikes we can only use the city trains between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., we had to be in Altomünster at 3 p.m. at the latest if we wanted to get a train that got us to Munich before 4. Otherwise we would have to wait until 6 p.m. to be allowed to take our bikes on the train. We had gotten an early start in the morning (early to bed, early to rise) and were in Altomünster before two with no sweat.
